Caitlyn Jenner has slammed the ‘radical rainbow mafia’ and has claimed that ‘crazy people’ have ‘taken over’ the LGBT community.

In an interview with British comedy legend John Cleese for GB News, the transgender Olympic gold medalist, 74, hit out at the ‘small group’ of people in the LGBT community that uses a ‘big social media microphone’ to voice their ‘woke ideology’.

Jenner, who was known as Bruce Jenner until she transitioned in 2015, has previously spoken out about people she refers to as the ‘radical rainbow mafia’.

She now claimed that the LGBT community, particularly the trans community, had been ‘taken over … by a small group of highly, well, crazy people’.

‘They’re not good for trans people in general, because they’re so outspoken and say ‘trans women are real women’ and they’re yelling at people, and you’re not going to get anywhere like that,’ she explained.

The TV personality, who starred in Keeping up with the Kardashians with ex-wife Kris Jenner and their children, also said social media gave this small group of woke people a ‘big, loud microphone’ to voice their controversial opinions, which she believes they do to get famous.

She added: ‘I think that really hurts most trans people. All they want to do is just go live their life.’

Jenner added that she doesn’t want to government to pay for gender reassignment surgery or get involved in it in any way either.

She said whether a person wants to change their gender is a decision between them, their parents and a medical professional and if the government came in to influence this decision, it would be to ‘break up the family’.

She also shared her opinion on trans women competing in women’s sports as she said it made trans people look ‘selfish’ and ‘self-indulgent’.

She said for trans women competing in women’s sports, it’s all about them rather than the women they are beating, making themselves out to be the victim in the situation.

She previously spoke out about the issue and announced her support for swimming governing body FINA’s ban on transgender female athletes who have gone through male puberty from competing in swimming races against women.

Jenner said at the time that it isn’t ‘fair’ for transgender female athletes to compete against biological females.

World Athletics and FIFA were among a number of governing bodies reviewing their guidelines on the involvement of transgender athletes following FINA’s ruling, which is the strictest by any Olympic sports body.

In June last year, the former athlete wrote: ‘It worked! I took a lot of heat – but what’s fair is fair! If you go through male puberty you should not be able to take medals away from females. Period.’

And speaking about transgender UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas in March 2022, she told DailyMail.com: ‘I respect her right to transition and I hope she has a wonderful, wonderful life. But she grew up as a biological boy and I don’t think it’s fair that she’s competing in women’s sports.’

Jenner famously won a gold medal in the men’s decathlon at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal as Bruce. She also won gold in the same competition at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City.

In 2015, Jenner, who says she is a conservative-leaning libertarian, publicly came out as a trans woman in a Vanity Fair article titled: ‘Call me Caitlyn’.
