Barbie fans are in for a special (trick-or) treat this halloween as they’ll have the chance to visit a Barbiecore-inspired pop-up shop. Deliveroo UK announces their brand new Barbiecore-inspired pop-up shop ‘Doll-iveroo’.
Deliveroo UK has launched Doll-iveroo for the month of October, which offers fans the chance to get dressed up as their favourite doll to visit the store and have a browse.
The pink-esque range can be delivered straight to your door via their online rapid grocery delivery service, Deliveroo HOP.
While stocks last, you can find a spooky selection of Barbiecore outfits and accessories inspired by the film’s leading characters at pop-up locations in Bristol, Brighton, Cambridge, Manchester and London.
Costumes include the iconic Barbiecore pink dress, a Ken-styled cowboy shirt, heart-shaped sunglasses, and even a blonde wig. Prices range from as little as £3 to a maximum of £9.99.
To get your hands on the goodies, just search for your nearest Deliveroo HOP store on the Deliveroo app, and click on the specially created ‘Doll-iveroo Costumes’ category section.
And it’s not just costumes available on the app; you can also get your hands on Halloween-themed food, drink and decorations right to your doorstep.
There are also a variety of ‘trick or treat’ sweets and decorative pumpkins to make for a frightfully sweet Halloween.
The launch comes as research from Deliveroo reveals ‘Barbiecore’ is set to be a top choice for Halloween outfits this year, with more than half – 52 per cent – of Brits saying they’re looking to dress up as Barbie or Ken.
Suzy McClintock, VP of Grocery, HOP and Editions at Deliveroo, said: ‘Research tells us that people are leaving their Halloween costumes to the last minute, so we wanted to provide a quick and simple solution for those on the brink of a Halloween fashion faux pas!
‘Our ‘Doll-iveroo’ pop-up costume shop offers customers across the UK a quick and stress-free solution to a hot pink limited edition Halloween outfit, delivered direct to their doors – leaving more time for apple bobbing and pumpkin carving!’
Deliveroo HOP is open from 7am to midnight and is available to adults over 18.
The news comes after Greta Gerwig’s politically acclaimed movie has been ranked as Warner Bros highest-grossing movie of all time in US cinemas.
Stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling have helped the studio turn the doll into dollars, taking in $537.5million at the domestic box office since its release, and overtaking Christopher Nolan’s 2008 Batman epic The Dark Knight.
Greta Gerwig has become the most successful female debut director of all time, soaring past the $153million taken in from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s 2019 blockbuster Captain Marvel.
The fantasy comedy features Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken as they embark on a journey of self-discovery following an existential crisis.
The film, based off the beloved Mattel character and co-written by Gerwig with husband Noah Baumbach, has been praised for its wry look at expectations of femininity.
Gerwig too has become one of the hottest names in the business in the wake of her success.
‘Gerwig’s ambition is not to be the biggest woman director, but [rather] a big studio director,’ a source told the New Yorker.
The huge blockbuster has been so successful that according to insiders, talks have already been had about getting the second one into production.
